Mermaid Films
Mermaid Films was set up in Australia in 1998 by Producer/Director/Author Robert Greenough.
With 25 years of industry experience in varying capacities including stunt performer, stunt co-ordinator, second unit directing, line producer, writer and producer, Robert’s aim was to form a company committed to producing high quality products in all aspects of Film and Television including feature films, TV movies/series, documentaries and TV commercials. It is his belief that solid development planning is the key to long-term success in raising projects to fruition.
Having co-written and produced his first feature film “Black Ice” ten years ago, Robert then moved on to study in the USA for a year to gain a better overview of large world market operations. Upon returning to Australia he went on to line produce several offshore productions, shot in Australia for the European market. The success of these led to Robert spending most of the last eight years in Germany writing and producing many successful series, films and commercials, culminating in the shooting of the extremely successful two part mini-series which he both wrote and produced - “Rapture Of The Deep” (also released as ‘Himmel Uber Australian”). The film was shot on location in Western Australia with a production budget of $5,500,000 and to date has been sold to over 40 countries.
Following this success, Mermaid Films has now based itself in Perth, Western Australia and currently has a slate of ten projects in various stages of development.
